Intro to Relationship Series

The month of February is known around the world as the month that is focused on showing your love towards your significant other. The writing team does not want to solely focus on the relationships that we have with our significant others and being alllovely-dovey. This month we want to focus on the journey that we’ve had when it comes to our relationship with the Lord and with ourselves and with our brothers and sisters.

The word relationship is the way in which two or more concepts, objects or people are connected, or the state of being connected. Last week, I wrote a post about being Thankful For Our Bridgesfor the fourth week of the 52 Weeks of Gratitude Challenge. That post gave honor to our forefathers, grandparents, parents, mentors, teachers and tutors. If you haven’t read it, take a look. It will truly make you smile with gratitude and bring up your own memories of your bridges in your life! That post of gratitude was important because we cannot have such strong structures and pillars in our lives without the key aspect of relationship. Relationship is what connects and identifies us with certain things, people, thought patterns, successes and even failures that can turn into great lessons for us.

There are many relationships that sharpen us to be the best person we can and ultimately have been created to be. Relationships are used to pull out greatness within us. Relationships are used as mirrors to show us where we need to improve and grow. The journey this month is going to be a bit personal, yet a great tool for us to take a walk into another level of greatness that is within and around us.

Can you imagine what it would have been like to walk and talk on a day to day basis with Jesus? Can you see Jesus crouching down crying because Lazarus died? Can you imagine feeling the righteous indignation that Jesus felt while He was turning over the tables in the courtyard of the temple? The beautiful thing is that we can actually feel and see these attributes because we have the Holy Spirit living on the inside of us. We will see, feel and do things that Jesus did and greater! In order for us to experience these attributes, we must intentionally build a relationship to walk in the peace and trust that the Lord has designed for us to walk in.

I promise this month is going to be a dynamic eye opener if you stick with us!
