We are the Seeds, Life is the Soil

A farmer had some of his choice seeds he wanted to plant in his field. The soil had been prepared, the irrigation system has been installed and the forecast has been favorable for the growing season this year. He plants the seeds, attends to them, make sure that the animals are not destroying his crop, prayed for rain and when the season came he went and got his harvest. 

When we think about how the Lord has planted us here on earth after He has prepared a place for us to grow, He attends to us and provides for all of our needs, He makes sure that the enemy does not steal kill and destroy us, He washes us with His word and when the season comes and He finds His word to perform the harvest is great! 

We are the seeds! Just as seeds produce what’s inside of them they have to be pushed down into the soil we sometimes can feels like life has treated us the same. It can appears that life’s situations has pushed us down and clothed us with dark situations. We cannot grow until we have been put in situations where the word has been tried in our hearts. The thing is in our growing up seasons we have to remember the seeds dig their roots only as deep as our hearts are open. Life is life and life provides a platform for the word to spring forth the power and strength needed to execute our purpose and passion. This cannot be done with stony hearts rejecting the word.

Our growing up seasons are those seasons where we feel as though we have drowned on dry land, where we are alone in a room full of people, situation after situation happen back to back and it seems to be hard to catch your breath. It is a crazy thing how the darkness produces just as much life as the light. Yet each serves its purpose. 

I’m learning how to be grateful and content with all things just as Paul said in Philippians 4:12-13, “I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

We are the seeds, life is the soil and because of that I am grateful I’m still growing!
