Lady Sabrina J -- The Challenge
1 John 4:7-10 NLT tells us “Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes
from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love
does not know God, for God is love. God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and
only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real
love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take
away our sins.”
How much of a Blessing is it to know that God loves us in spite of us?? Wow wee! I love how God instructs us to love us as he has loved us. In such a sacrificial way God demonstrated his unconditional love towards us by sending his son Jesus to die for all mankind so that he can have eternal life through him. Powerful! In saying this it is so important that we learn to love each other the way God would have us to love. Regardless of how others treat us, misuse or abuse us, it’s our job as believers to show the love of Christ so that our father in heaven can be glorified through our lives. I’m not saying that it will always be easy and the struggle of giving up on love doesn’t come into our lives along the way but, let us rather think of ourselves less and more of the needs of others as Christ did for us on the cross. There will always be an opportunity to love someone we feel is unlovable, un-huggable, and unworthy (in our opinion) however, those are the VERY ones that need our love the VERY most. I challenge you on today to find someone in your life that you have found it to be a challenge to show love to and begin to deliberately shower them with some God-like Love. God is love and we want to resemble him here on earth as much as possible because he did sacrifice it ALL for us.
