Starting Place: Side A

Have you ever looked at someone in pure amazement and wonder how they do what they do? Have you walked into a store and quietly asked yourself, “I wonder how all of this got started?” Have you ever looked at a documentary and watched in awe at the person’s determination to work through whatever fears that once kept them quiet?

I do all the time.

During our personal journey in life, ministry, careers, love, self-discovery or whatever path you're on, we can get to the point where we start to compare ourselves to the next person’s journey. With this comparison we can feel like we are simply behind. We will look at our age, we will look at where we are living, we will look at what’s missing on our resume and even compare that to our passion to do something else -- which in turn will disqualify us for whatever greater moment we are striving for. Some of our closest friends make us want to hide in a cave without them even knowing. This doesn’t mean that we are not truly happy for their success and overcoming their extremely hard days and times because Lord knows we truly are! Yet it’s that quiet whisper of “I’ve been supporting everyone else for so long...when is it going to be my turn??”
I get it!

I want to encourage you to go back and look at why you have even started on your path. Was it a passion that the Lord lit within you while you were in prayer, now it is literally a fire that is shut up in your bones? Was it for you? Was it to please someone else? Was it to prove the people who doubted you and told you would you be nothing without them?

During these times...go back to your starting place and do not allow anyone to try to disqualify you for simply getting the courage to take your first step to your new life, your new journey, your new reality. You’re starting place is what makes you the equal to every person you look up to. It makes you equal to every successful business owner. It makes you equal to every millionaire. It makes you equal to every person you compare yourself to.

It may be scary but it will be worth it!!

Get on YOUR journey!
